Cookie & Tracking Policy
Last updated: August 15, 2026 · Operator: TyraTag Inc.
1. Our default is off
Only strictly-necessary cookies (login session, password reset, security, your theme preference) unless you opt in. Your cookie choice itself is not a cookie: it is stored in your browser’s local storage. Optional analytics load only if you accept the consent banner, and declining is one tap, as easy as accepting.
2. Categories
| Category | What | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Sign-in session (sb-<project>-auth-token, which may be split across numbered chunks) and its sign-in verifier (…-code-verifier), both set by Supabase · password-reset handoff (tt_pwreset, short-lived) · bot protection on the finder form (Cloudflare Turnstile) · your theme preference (tt-theme, 1 year) · the tag you are claiming (tt-claim, 30 minutes), set when you scan a tag that has not been claimed yet so the activation flow knows which tag you are holding. Your saved cookie choice is not a cookie: it is stored in your browser’s local storage. | Always on |
| Analytics | PostHog (opt-in only; sets its own ph_…_posthog cookie once you accept; pseudonymous, tied to an opaque account ID, and we never send it your name or email as a field. We strip query strings from page URLs, but a page path itself is recorded as-is. Never on scan pages.) | Off |
| Marketing | Advertising pixels on our Shopify store pages only (never app/scan pages) | Off |
3. Tag-scan pages carry no trackers
Tag-scan pages carry no analytics, no advertising trackers, and no banner — by design. Someone scanning a tag in an emergency is never interrupted by a cookie prompt.
4. Changing your mind
Your choice is not permanent. If you have an account, the analytics setting is in Settings and you can switch it off — or on — at any time, and turning it off is exactly as easy as turning it on was.
If you do not have an account, your choice is stored in your own browser rather than on our servers, so we have nothing to reset for you. Clearing this site’s data in your browser settings clears the choice, and the banner will ask you again next visit. Because it is per-browser, a choice you made on your phone does not follow you to your laptop.
5. The Shopify store
The Shopify store (checkout) runs its own banner under Shopify’s Customer Privacy controls.
